• Verifying that meters, visible plumbing, and connections are correctly installed and functioning properly, reporting any malfunctions, defects and/or leaks.
• Cleaning out meter boxes and performing general landscape maintenance as needed.
• Servicing and maintaining main valves throughout the City.

UTILITY SERVICE TECHNICIAN

MOREHEAD CITY is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of UTILITY SERVICE TECHNICIAN. The position of UTILITY SERVICE TECHNICIAN performs intermediate semiskilled work locating, maintaining, and reading water meters. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Utility Crew Leader.

Essential Duties Include (but Are Not Limited To)

• Maintaining water and utility meters and recording readings.
