Job summary

Clearwater Solutions is seeking a field-based Meter Reader to collect data from residential and commercial customer locations in Snow Hill, NC. You will read water meters, log readings, and ensure accurate paperwork in accordance with regulations.

The role emphasizes field data collection, meter inspection, and basic landscape maintenance as part of route duties. Weekend, overtime, and on-call availability may be required to support operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR required.
• 1 year experience in water distribution, maintenance or servicing industry preferred.
• Ability to work independently and pay strong attention to detail.
• Ability to understand water systems and concepts.
• Must be available to work weekends, overtime and on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review service orders to determine locations for meter readings.
• Read water meters and enter data in route logs.
• Maintain required paperwork and logs per regulations.
• Inspect meters and connections for defects, faults, or damages.
• Repair and/or replace broken water mains and service lines.
• Communicate meter issues or incorrect readings to the Project Manager.
• Operate a company vehicle to conduct meter readings on assigned routes.
• Connect and disconnect utility services as directed.
• Maintain accuracy of data in utility log book.

Job Summary

This person will work in the field for most of their day and be responsible for the accurate and timely collection of data from residential and commercial customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Review service orders to determine locations where meter readings need to be performed
• Read water meters and enter data in route logs
• Maintains required paperwork and logs in compliance with Federal, State and local rules and regulations
• Inspect meters and connections to determine defects, faults and damages
• Repairs and/or replaces broken water mains and service lines
• Communicate problems with meters or incorrect readings to the Project Manager
• Operates a company vehicle to conduct meter readings for assigned route
• Connect and disconnect utility services as directed
• Ensure that all data in the utility log book is maintained correctly, and kept updated
• Perform general landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, clean-ups, pruning, and other typical landscape maintenance tasks
• Performs other related duties as directed
