Job summary

City of El Paso is seeking a Safety Training and Compliance Specialist to join El Paso Water. You will lead safety training programs, perform daily site inspections, and assist in plant operations and maintenance to ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and four years of risk reduction or plant operations experience, with appropriate licenses by appointment. Strong emphasis on audits, safety program development, and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and four years of risk reduction, plant operations or maintenance experience.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License or equivalent by appointment; potential Class C Water or Wastewater license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite safety training to employees and supervisors.
• Conduct daily worksite safety inspections, audits and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in plant operations and maintenance as needed.
• Inspect machinery, gauges, meters, pumps, motors and chemical feeders for proper operation.
• Prepare reports, maintain records and contribute to safety KPI tracking.
• Lead safety meetings and participate in incident investigations and training.
