Shaw Industries seeks a Utility Relief worker for a Sunday-Thursday night shift (11pm–7am) to assist with filling in for absent employees, relieve breaks, and manage sew on waste. Responsibilities include giving breaks on Coater/Reshear, weighing sew on waste, and maintaining a clean, orderly department. Training includes Power Industrial Truck (PIT) operation.

Job Title

Utility Relief | Sunday- Thursday

Position Overview

This position is Sunday- Thursday 11pm-7am.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Responsible for assisting with filling in for absent employees, relieving employees for breaks, and handling sew on waste.

Essential Duties

• Give breaks in finishing and fill in for absent employees on Coater, Reshear
• Weigh and record sew on waste
• Assist in keeping department in a clean, orderly manner

Physical Requirements

• Frequently required to reach, handle, stand, stoop
• Must be able to lift 70 lbs occasionally.
• Work in a normal industrial environment with inherent background noise, dirt, humidity, and temperature variations
• Must participate in group stretching prior to shift

Other Requirements

Must be applicable to all JHA's

Power Industrial Truck (PIT)

Use appropriate tools for job depending which operator is being relieved for breaks or absence.

Safety & Security Requirements

This position has the responsibility and authority to report to management any safety problems, and potential problems, encountered while performing the job

This position has the responsibility of the quality and safety of his/her own output and their co-worker
