Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Utility Plant Operator I to ensure safe, reliable operation of campus utility systems. You will monitor equipment such as boilers, turbines, and chillers, perform maintenance, and maintain logs while upholding safety standards.

The role follows a 12-hour shift with days or nights, 2-2-3 schedule, and requires daily work on site. Training for a State license is provided, with potential promotion to Operator II after successful completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be willing to work at a designated site daily.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
• Willingness to comply with ENGIE safety policies.
• Exposure to outdoor conditions up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant systems, take readings, and adjust operations for efficiency.
• Respond to alarms and changing system conditions.
• Perform equipment inspections and basic troubleshooting.
• Execute equipment startup, shutdown, and LOTO procedures.
• Operate boilers, turbines, chillers, generators, and related systems.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of plant areas.
• Communicate effectively with incoming shifts to ensure continuity.
