Job summary

City of Phoenix is seeking a Utility Permit and Coordination Technician (Chief Engineering Tech) in the Utility Coordination Section. The role reviews dry utility plans for City ROW and PUEs and coordinates relocations for CIP projects, reporting to a Project Manager or Principal Engineering Technician.

Ideal candidates will have five years of paraprofessional engineering experience, with two years in civil engineering or one year atSenior Engineering Technician level, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Five years of paraprofessional engineering experience.
• Two years of paraprofessional civil engineering experience (or one year at the level of Senior Engineering Technician).
• Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
• All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.
• Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business with valid license and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex plan reviews for dry utilities occupying City ROW and PUEs.
• Coordinate utility relocations for Capital Improvement Projects (CIP).
• Work under supervision of Project Manager or Principal Engineering Technician.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, City contractors, utility designers, and other contractors.
