Job summary

The Town of Hudson is seeking a Utility Operator I to perform a range of maintenance and repair tasks related to Town facilities and water/wastewater systems. The role supports licensed operators and offers opportunities for licensing and training.

Responsibilities include meter work, line and facility maintenance, janitorial tasks, and on-site customer communications. On-call rotation applies, with a focus on dependable service and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; equivalent experience or training may be substituted.
• Must possess Colorado Class D water and wastewater operator licenses or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Colorado driver’s license required; Class B CDL preferred or obtain within 12 months of employment.
• Previous water, wastewater, or general construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of maintenance and repair work assignments.
• Perform a variety of general labor and maintenance tasks including installation, repair and reading of water meters.
• Assist licensed operators in the repair and maintenance of water or wastewater lines and facilities.
• Perform general janitorial or maintenance duties including snow removal, as assigned.
• Identify equipment and material needs; operate hand and power tools and maintain inventory.
• Maintain grounds at Town facilities and communicate with the public regarding works.
• Complete required paperwork and reports related to activities; on-call rotating duties.
