Job summary

Town of Hudson seeks a Utility Operator I to support operation, maintenance and repair of Town facilities, including water systems. This role involves on-call duties and opportunities for licensing and training.

You will perform meter work, assist licensed operators, and conduct snow removal and general maintenance while keeping records. The Town offers competitive pay, health benefits, retirement plan, and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; equivalent experience or training may be substituted.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Colorado driver’s license required; Class B CDL preferred at hire or within 12 months.
• Colorado Class D water/wastewater operator licenses or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Previous water, wastewater, or general construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair work across Town facilities and systems.
• Install, repair, and read water meters.
• Assist licensed operators with water/wastewater lines and facilities.
• Perform janitorial or maintenance duties including snow removal.
• Identify material needs; operate hand/power tools and mobile equipment; maintain inventory.
• Conduct regular grounds maintenance at Town facilities.
• Interact with the public and provide high levels of customer service; respond to inquiries.
• Complete required paperwork and reports; work under general supervision; rotating on-call duties.
