Job summary

Gehl Foods is hiring a Utility Operator for the 2nd shift (2pm - 10:30pm). The role supports cross-functional production lines, sets up and starts lines, trains new operators, and troubleshoots equipment issues. A strong forklift background and 3 years of manufacturing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years of manufacturing experience, ideally in a food, process, high-speed packaging or Form-Fill-Seal industry.
• Previous forklift experience.
• Technical knowledge of aseptic processes, equipment and products.
• Ability to interpret, communicate and execute plans or instructions in a time sensitive manner with limited direction and resources.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross functional production teams and provide coverage to various lines or processes.
• Makes proper hook-ups and line set-up activities for starting and operating lines.
• Organizes and executes rework.
• Ensure line communication boards are filled out.
• Trains new team members on-line operation, including equipment and control system operation, documentation and sampling requirements.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and communicating production issues to Supervisor.
• Safely operates a forklift in order to keep assigned work area supplied with necessary production materials.
• Audits line staff’s paperwork to ensure paperwork is filled out accurately and in real time.
