Job summary

Harsco Environmental in Pittsboro, IN is seeking a Utility Operator to safely and proficiently operate equipment at the Metal Recovery Plant. The role includes feeding the plant with a front end loader, loading slag and scrap trucks, and operating heavy haul/dump trucks as needed.

Applicants should have 6 months of heavy equipment experience, be able to climb in and out of equipment, and work 12-hour day/night shifts in a steel mill environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Must be alert and drug-free for safety of self and coworkers.
• Ability to climb in and out of equipment and work shifts of 12 hours (day/night).

Responsibilities

• Operate a front end loader to feed the Metal Recovery Plant.
• Load slag and scrap trucks; operate heavy haul/dump trucks around the site.
• Perform related manual labor as needed and reassignments by management.

Job Summary:Safely and proficiently operate equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:operate a front end loader in order to feed the Metal Recovery Plant, load slag/scrap customer trucks or operate heavy haul/dump trucks around the job site. Secondary duties assigned based on business need at management discretion.

Qualifications

This role requires that the employee be alert and drug free at all times for the safety of the employee and his co-workers.This is a steel mill environment with large mobile equipment operating in the vicinity of employee.This person operates equipment in all areas of a busy steel mill. Must be able to climb in and out of the equipment, which involves several steps and ladders, may be required to shift gears manually, and work a 12 hour per day work shift both daytime and nighttime. Is subjected to all types of weather when he is outside of the vehicle and also is subject to uneven surfaces with loose materials when walking. When the equipment is not required, employee may be re-assigned to other large off road mobile equipment or may be required to perform manual laboring duties such as clean up, shoveling, etc.
