Job summary

Reworld is seeking a Utility Operator in Maryland to operate and maintain ash handling and metal recovery equipment in the Residue Storage and Processing Building. You will perform daily operations, inspections, and logging to support efficient waste processing.

The role requires reading procedures, good communication with team members, and forklift experience is a plus. Work includes a 12-hour rotating shift with nights, weekends, and some holidays; benefits start on day one.

Qualifications

  • GED/HS Diploma preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively with supervisors and other employees.

Responsibilities

  • Operate bottom ash transfer conveyors, ash silos, fly ash transfer screws, pugmills, ferrous magnet, ECS conveyor and related equipment.
  • Perform daily inspections and fill out logs.
  • Assist in boiler cleanings and keep work area clean and organized.
  • Lockout/tagout of equipment during maintenance activities.
  • Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment as needed.

Apply today!About the roleThe Utility Operator is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the ash handling and metal recovery equipment in the Residue Storage and Processing Building area. In this role, you will perform routine operations and inspections of the residue and metal recovery equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily operation of the bottom ash transfer conveyors, ash silos, fly ash transfer screws, pugmills, ferrous magnet, ECS conveyor and associated equipment.Perform daily routine inspections of assigned equipment and fill out daily log sheets.Participate in boiler cleanings.Maintain cleanliness of equipment related to ash removal and conditioning and an orderly clean work area.Perform lockout and tag out of equipment in support of maintenance activities.Complete scheduled assigned Operator Qualifications Standards.Drive mobile equipment such as forklifts.Qualifications:GED/HS Diploma preferredReworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.Forklift driving experience a plus.Three to six months of related experience and/or training preferred.Formal technical or apprentice training is desirable, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and other procedure manuals.Ability to speak and communicate effectively with supervisors and other employees of the organization.Shift WorkThis position works on a rotating 12-hour shift including nights, weekends and some holidays.
