Job description

Description

Responsible for prioritizing safety in daily work routines for oneself and others. Operates power-driven equipment to excavate trenches for pipelines, performs field repairs and adjustments, and works as part of a construction crew. Tasks include digging ditches, backfilling, moving materials and equipment by hand, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting in installing and dismantling equipment for the safe installation and maintenance of natural gas pipeline systems. May serve as the primary driver of gang trucks and backhoe trailers. Maintains records of operating time and works emergency standby as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a safe driving record, including operation of backhoes and driving gang trucks with trailers.
• Preferred: One year of experience in backhoe operation and ability to use standard pipe tools and operate pipeline construction equipment.
• May be required to use self-contained breathing apparatus in gas-related emergencies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of the natural gas construction industry is preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Must take necessary measures to protect networks, devices, programs, and data from cyber threats.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorships considered.
• Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
• Work environment includes outside conditions with weather temperatures ranging from over 100°F in summer to -30°F in winter.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of natural gas properties and equipment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, inspect, and maintain natural gas plant facilities, construction equipment, tools, and vehicles.
• Respond to gas incidents and use all personal safety equipment provided.
• Properly cut and thread pipe and perform simple pipe fitting.
• Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.

Compensation and Application Details
