Job summary

The City of Azle, TX is seeking a Utility Maintenance Worker I–III to install and maintain meters, repair the water distribution system, and service sewer collection and lift stations in the city. You will perform related tasks with minimal supervision and contribute to a safe, efficient public works operation.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, a Texas driver’s license, and preferred 2 years in water/wastewater maintenance.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Prefer two years of experience in water and wastewater maintenance and repair.
  • Must receive Texas CSI license within one year.
  • CDL with tanker endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Makes emergency repairs on water lines and sewer mains; locates leaks, excavates sites, repairs pipe, and tests mains.
  • Installs and maintains water and sewer mains, meters, and related components.
  • Maintains hydrants, performs sewer taps, and manages meter installations for customers.
  • Keeps records of work performed, materials, and equipment usage; supports inventory control.
