The Utilities Maintenance Worker I ensures the upkeep and care of water and wastewater systems. This is accomplished by maintaining and installing water and wastewater systems throughout the city and maintaining the safe and efficient operation of equipment.
Repairs and maintains water and sewer systems by changing out and repairing lines, main breaks, and hydrants, unstopping mains, cleaning valves, removing debris, changing out meters, installing new parts and equipment, and inspecting lines
This position is eligible for 4 10-hour days scheduling upon the successful completion of a six-month probationary period and at supervisor's discretion.
Requires a High School Diploma.
Requires a Class "C" Driver's license. Must be able to obtain a Class "B" CDL Driver's license within 3 months of City provided required training. Must be able to obtain a Class C Water license through TCEQ within 2 years of hire.
