Job summary

Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials in Big Spring, TX is seeking a Utility Laborer to join the crew. You will perform a variety of general labor tasks on the jobsite to support safe and efficient operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year of industrial, manufacturing experience, and the ability to work outdoors, travel when required, and to work nights and weekends. PPE must be worn when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing experience.
• Good organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
• Willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Willing to work outside in the elements.
• Wear proper PPE when required.

Responsibilities

• Occasionally perform general laboring duties, such as shoveling and raking stone, gravel, earth, and topsoil material.
• Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery.
• Regularly erects, positions, and moves sign packages in a safe, accurate manner, adhering to state specifications.
• Move traffic control devices, regularly lifting 30 lbs and occasionally 100 lbs.
• Occasionally direct traffic through construction sites using proper equipment and procedures.
• Occasionally lift heavy objects.
