Job summary

Utz Quality Foods, LLC is expanding its Kings Mountain, NC manufacturing facility and seeking a dedicated Utility II to join the team. The role supports production areas, operates equipment, handles sanitation, and inventories materials.

You will learn operator roles over a 3-month onboarding period and contribute to a safe, efficient production environment. The job requires basic math, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and prior food production experience with fryers or packaging equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to learn operator jobs over a 3-month period from onboarding.
• Previous food experience including operating fryers or packaging equipment is required.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Basic math skills.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 70 lbs.
• Must follow all personal and food safety rules, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for other Utilities, Operators, and/or Co-workers as needed.
• Operate touch screens and data entry equipment in assigned area.
• Move and place materials to support production using forklifts or pallet jacks.
• Ensure accurate consumption of materials from production to Inventory.
• Work one weekend a month for End of Month Inventory.
• Organize new inventory according to best practices; double-stacking.
• Maintain clean and well-maintained work areas and equipment.
• Identify and communicate safety and equipment issues; support zero-accident culture.
• Support Food Safety programs with management and associates.
• Report safety problems to a supervisor or manager.

At Utz Quality Foods, we have expanded our Kings Mountain, NC manufacturing facility and looking for a dedicatedUtility IIto join our team. The Utility II assists as back up in all the production processes and positions by supporting the production areas including Operating equipment, sanitation, and stocking/consumption of inventory.

Responsibilities:

• Provide coverage for other Utilities, Operators, , and/or Co-workers as needed according to established requirements and procedures for the assigned tasks. (For more information, review all other job postings)
• Operate touch screens and various pieces of production and data entry equipment required for operation of equipment in assigned area when filling in for operators.
• Move and place necessary materials to support production needs using forklifts or pallet jacks.
• Ensure the accurate consumption of materials from production to Inventory
• Must be able to work one weekend a month for End of Month Inventory
• Organize new inventory according to best practices; double-stacking is required
• Ensure adherence to established safety standards and proactively communicating and addressing issues for the plant supporting a zero-accident culture.
• Ensure work area, machinery and other equipment are kept clean and well maintained.
• Proactively identify, communicate, and where applicable, address safety and equipment related issues.
• Providing suggestions on continuous improvement opportunities.
• Works with management and fellow associates to ensure Food Safety programs are followed.
• Reports food, office or operational safety problems to a supervisor or manager for initiating action.
• Performs other duties as assigned that will impact and support the overall outcome of company and department objectives.
