Job summary

Utz Quality Foods seeks a dedicated Utility II for our Kings Mountain, NC facility. This role supports production, operates equipment, and assists with sanitation and inventory processes.

You will cover other utilities and operators as needed and help move materials with forklifts or pallet jacks. The position requires learning operator tasks within ~3 months, previous food experience, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and strong written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Previous food experience including operating fryers or packaging equipment.
• Ability to multi-task and learn operator roles over a 3-month onboarding period.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and operate basic hand tools.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Support production areas including operating equipment, sanitation, and inventory stocking.

Job Description

At Utz Quality Foods, we have expanded our Kings Mountain, NC manufacturing facility and looking for a dedicatedUtility IIto join our team. The Utility II assists as back up in all the production processes and positions by supporting the production areas including Operating equipment, sanitation, and stocking/consumption of inventory.

Responsibilities:

• Provide coverage for other Utilities, Operators, , and/or Co-workers as needed according to established requirements and procedures for the assigned tasks. (For more information, review all other job postings)
• Operate touch screens and various pieces of production and data entry equipment required for operation of equipment in assigned area when filling in for operators.
• Move and place necessary materials to support production needs using forklifts or pallet jacks.
• Ensure the accurate consumption of materials from production to Inventory
• Must be able to work one weekend a month for End of Month Inventory
• Organize new inventory according to best practices; double-stacking is required
• Ensure adherence to established safety standards and proactively communicating and addressing issues for the plant supporting a zero-accident culture.
• Ensure work area, machinery and other equipment are kept clean and well maintained.
• Proactively identify, communicate, and where applicable, address safety and equipment related issues.
• Providing suggestions on continuous improvement opportunities.
• Works with management and fellow associates to ensure Food Safety programs are followed.
• Reports food, office or operational safety problems to a supervisor or manager for initiating action.
• Performs other duties as assigned that will impact and support the overall outcome of company and department objectives.

Requirements:

• Must be willing to learn operator jobs over a 3-month period of time from initial onboarding.
• Previous food experience required including operating of fryers or packaging equipment.
• Must have the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 70 lbs.
