Job summary

Utz Brands, Inc. in Hanover, PA, is seeking a Plant Utility Supervisor to lead our Weekend Day Shift Utility team on a fast-paced manufacturing campus.

You will oversee the daily operations of the Utility Department, ensure safe and efficient movement of raw materials, and support uninterrupted production. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, developing people, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration with Production, Processing, Maintenance, and Facilities.

Qualifications

• Prev. supervisory experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, utility, or food production environment.
• Experience leading teams in fast-paced manufacturing.
• Knowledge of raw material handling, utility operations, sanitation, or plant support functions.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of approximately 10–20 Utility associates, including full-time and temporary employees.
• Supervise the Weekend Janitor and ensure housekeeping and sanitation support activities are completed.
• Coordinate the receiving, storage, and movement of raw potatoes and edible oil to meet production demands.
• Assign daily work priorities and oversee utility, sanitation, material handling, and plant support activities.
• Partner with Production, Processing, Maintenance, and Facilities to ensure efficient product flow and minimize downtime.
• Monitor department performance and adjust priorities to support daily production requirements.
• Fill in during staffing shortages or operational needs to maintain continuous support.
• Interview, coach, train, and evaluate team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Review employee timecards and coordinate staffing needs with Talent Acquisition and staffing partners.
• Monitor equipment performance and communicate maintenance concerns using established work order processes.
• Promote and enforce all safety policies, GMPs, food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and SQF requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance department performance.
• Perform other duties that support the success of the Utility Department and overall plant operations.

Standard hours of work will be Friday-Monday 5:0? AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional need to be flexible based on production.

Requirements

• Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, utility, or food production environment.
• Experience leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of raw material handling, utility operations, sanitation, or plant support functions.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification upon hire.
• Working knowledge of GMPs, food safety, and SQF standards.
• Experience with ERP systems, RedZone, or similar manufacturing software is preferred.
• Knowledge of raw potato receiving, edible oil handling, and inventory management is preferred.
• Additional post‑secondary education and bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
