Zekelman Industries in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Utility I - FlexApply. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role sets up and operates high-speed equipment with robotic elements to form or cut steel to exact dimensions.

The position is full-time, on site, with a first shift (8:30am - 7:00pm) and pay of $25.00/Hour. Responsibilities include safety, calibration, quality checks, reporting defects, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Manufacturing or related industrial experience preferred.
• Ability to perform math with decimals and fractions.
• Experience with measuring devices (tape measure, micrometers, calipers).
• Ability to operate forklift, crane and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Observe safety and LOTO rules while operating equipment.
• Advanced setup and calibration of equipment.
• Inspect materials for quality before, during, and after run.
• Record and report deficiencies to supervisor/quality dept.
• Maintain tooling and perform PM as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement programs.
• Complete reports on production, changeovers, and scrap material.

Hospitals, hotels, schools, bridges, airports and more.****Come build a career you believe in.****ABOUT THE ROLE:**Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for setting up and operating high speed equipment with robotic elements to form or cut steel to specified dimensions and specifications. **Shift:**1st (8:30am - 7:00pm)**Pay:** $25.00/Hour**RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Observe all safety and LOTO rules to operate equipment efficiently and effectively.* Advanced set up and calibration of all equipment.* Inspect materials for quality issues before, during, and after running material* Record and report any deficiencies in quality to the supervisor/quality department.* Maintain equipment tooling and tools necessary for job completion.* Diagnose equipment and quality problems while keeping scrap and delays to a minimum* Perform housekeeping tasks to keep work areas clean and safe* Complete reports related to production, changeovers, and scrap material* Assist maintenance in repairs and PM of equipment.* Participation in continuous improvement programs.* Perform all other duties as assigned by management jobs as assigned.**QUALIFICATIONS:*** High school diploma or equivalent.* Ability to read and write English.
