Eocene Environmental Group, Inc. is hiring a Consulting Utility Forester to work outdoors, collaborating with utility clients, property owners, and contractors on vegetation management for safe power delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in forestry or related field; utility line clearance experience preferred.
• Species identification skills and invasive species knowledge; knowledge of tree growth rates.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to travel and work in rugged terrain and inclement weather.
• Proficient in map navigation skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and data collection software; GIS a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contact property owners and public agencies regarding pruning and/or removals.
• Conduct tree and brush inventories.
• Conduct hazard tree inspections and evaluations.
• Plan work for tree contractors.
• Gather and manage field data (species, size, distance).
• Validate data across databases for accurate reporting.
• Verify summaries and charts reflect underlying data.
• Safeguard employees and the public from hazards.
• Enforce on-the-job safety practices.
• Carry and utilize materials, tools, and equipment on site.
• Service trucks and equipment; keep them clean and organized.
