Job summary

The City of Mesa Energy Resources is seeking a Construction Equipment/Supply Specialist to coordinate delivery of equipment, supplies, and materials to construction sites and oversee maintenance and calibration of field equipment used in the natural gas and electric utility system. Requirements include a valid Arizona Class A CDL/CLP by hire date, completion of ELD, and ability to meet operator qualifications within six months.

Overtime and DOT drug/alcohol testing may apply.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time employment in underground utility construction and/or above ground natural gas or electrical utility construction, OR six months of full-time employment as a Field Worker II with the City of Mesa’s Energy Resources Department.
• Must possess a valid Arizona Class A CDL (CDL) or Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) by hire or promotion date. CLP holders must complete the ELD training program, the Third-Party Examiner driving test, and obtain a CDL within 150 days of hire or promotion. Must meet operator qualification requirements within six months of hire/promotion.
• Subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing under 49 CFR Parts 199 and 382.
• Preferred/desirable qualification: experience with a public or private utility system.

Responsibilities

• Deliver equipment, supplies, and material to construction sites.
• Maintain, repair, and/or calibrate equipment used in utility construction and maintenance.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate vehicle/equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Support natural gas division, electric division, or both as assigned.
