Job summary

Marathon Staffing Group in Mesa, AZ seeks an Electric Utility Construction Inspector to perform field inspections of electrical distribution infrastructure at various sites. You will review plans, monitor compliance with codes, and coordinate permit closures while maintaining detailed logs and reports.

The role requires 1–4 years of relevant experience, strong communication skills, and a valid Arizona Driver’s License. This is a full-time, temporary 12-month assignment with benefits available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–4 years of experience with electrical utility infrastructure installation.
• Experience with commercial construction and development activities.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and installation practices.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications and maps.
• Ability to identify construction deficiencies and communicate corrective actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess a valid Arizona Class D Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of electrical utility construction at City, developer and private sites.
• Inspect electrical distribution systems, duct banks, vault systems and related installations for compliance.
• Review engineering plans, utility maps, technical drawings and construction details.
• Identify deficiencies and communicate required corrections to contractors.
• Prepare and maintain daily inspection logs, progress reports and punch lists.
• Verify permits are obtained and closed out; monitor schedules and shop drawings.
• Coordinate utility shutdowns and construction activities that affect other departments.
• Communicate professionally with contractors, utility personnel and the public.
