Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services is seeking an experienced Utility Estimator for a direct hire opportunity in the Plano/The Colony, TX area. The role supports preconstruction with accurate, competitive bids and strategic project planning for heavy civil and underground utility projects.

The estimator will review plans and specifications, perform quantity takeoffs, and coordinate with project managers to shape bid strategy in a stable, team‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, utility, infrastructure, and underground construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, utility, infrastructure, and underground construction projects.
• Analyze plans, specifications, bid documents, and drawings to identify scope requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and price labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and supplier packages.
• Solicit, compare, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing for accuracy and competitiveness.
• Identify project risks, scope gaps, bid opportunities, and value engineering options.
• Collaborate with project managers, leadership, and preconstruction teams on bid strategy and execution.
