Job summary

InterCon Construction, Inc. is seeking a construction laborer to prepare sites, locate utilities, and support safe, efficient workflow on our projects in Wisconsin. You will assist with loading materials, signaling equipment operators, and helping install or align gas mains and cables as needed.

The role requires a valid driver's license, willingness to travel, and the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly. Prior utility construction experience is helpful and education in gas/utilities

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 pounds regularly.
• Experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables preferred.
• Education in Gas and Utilities Construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work site to locate utilities and eliminate hazards.
• Signal operators to help move or align equipment.
• Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools.
• Follow safety standards during digging, trenching, grading, and sealing joints.
• Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
• Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Strong work ethic, and the ability to work long hours.
• Background in utility work ideal.
• Signal operators to help facilitate movement or alignment of equipment.
• Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools
• Follow safety standards throughout process, including while digging trenches, sliding pipe into trenches, grading trenches, and sealing joints.
• Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
• Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/Equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Class A CDL preferred
• Must be willing to travel
• Must be able to bend/kneel/stand/walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 pounds regularly
• Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables preferred
• Education in Gas and Utilities Construction preferred
