Job summary

InterCon Construction is seeking a skilled gas piping installer to join our field team in Wisconsin Rapids. The role involves assembling gas piping and equipment, configuring pipe routes, and ensuring safe, compliant installation on active sites.

Candidates must hold a valid CDL Class A, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and be willing to travel for projects. A focus on safety and attention to detail is essential for daily site work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL Class A strongly preferred for travel and site access.
• Candidate should have experience with gas piping and utility construction.
• Prior installation of gas mains and fiber optic cables is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work site to locate utilities and eliminate hazards.
• Signal operators to help facilitate movement or alignment of equipment.
• Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools.
• Configure pipe routes.
• Assemble gas piping and equipment.
• Follow safety standards throughout process (trenches, pipes, joints).
• Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
• Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/Equivalent
• Valid Driver's License Class A CDL
• preferred Must be willing to travel
• Must be able to bend/kneel/stand/walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 pounds regularly
• Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables preferred
• Education in Gas and Utilities Construction preferred
