Job summary

Ameren Illinois is seeking a Distribution Design Associate to manage customer and system improvement projects and provide engineering services for electric distribution lines and gas mains. You will gather data, prepare field notes, obtain approvals, and coordinate with Operations to meet in-service dates.

Roles involve field and office work with possible emergency call-outs. The position requires an associate or bachelor’s in relevant engineering tech fields and several years of utility

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management or related technical field required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; three years utility industry experience may substitute for degree.
• Specialist requires the degree and three years of relevant utility experience.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Company as the single point of contact with customers, builders and developers for service requests.
• Provide engineering services on customer requests and internally generated projects (reliability, planning, replacement).
• Manage customer and system improvement projects to meet due dates.
• Deliver excellent customer service to support customer satisfaction goals.
• Gather load information, service size, voltage and other data for proper sizing.
• Prepare engineering field notes and forward to the Design Center on time.
• Obtain approvals, easements and rights-of-way to prepare and execute service contracts and permits.
• Coordinate with Operations to schedule projects to meet in-service requirements.
• Maintain understanding of standards, qualifications and customer billing policies.
• Assist in evaluating new business projects for revenue, costs and contributions.
• Process jobs using various company computer systems.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers, architects, engineers and internal staff.
• Work may occur in field or office and may require emergency call-out.
