Job summary

Ameren Illinois is seeking a Distribution Design Associate to manage customer projects and system improvements. The role involves applying engineering knowledge to electric distribution lines and gas mains, coordinating with customers, builders, and internal teams to meet service requests.

Responsibilities include interfacing with Supervising Engineers, gathering load data, preparing field notes, and securing approvals and rights of way.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management or related technical field required.
• Three years relevant utility industry experience may be considered without required Associates degree.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Company as the single point of contact with customers, builders, developers regarding service requests.
• Provide engineering services on customer requests and projects generated internally (reliability, planning, replacement).
• Manage customer and system improvement projects to meet due dates.
• Gather load information and ensure facilities are sized correctly.
• Prepare field notes and coordinate with the Design Center to meet requirements.
• Obtain approvals, easements, and rights‑of‑way for contracts and permits.
• Coordinate with Operations to schedule projects to meet in‑service requirements.
• Assist in evaluating new business projects for revenue, costs, and customer contributions.
• Work in field or office environments and respond to emergency calls.
