Jobtailor is seeking a dispatcher to coordinate field personnel and resources for service requests and emergencies in Maryland. You will document all activities and maintain communication with homeowners, excavators, and utility personnel to ensure timely deployment and high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred but not required.
• Acceptable Driving Record.
• Must pass a background check prior to employment.
• Must pass a pre‑employment drug screening.
• Able to navigate a computer file system.
• Reading comprehension skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet daily deadlines.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi‑task and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office software or similar systems.
• Previous experience working as a dispatcher within the utilities sector preferred.
• Proven experience or knowledge of the utility industry and its operational protocols beneficial but not necessary.
• Advanced skills in documentation and record‑keeping software preferred.
• Experience working collaboratively in cross‑functional teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and dispatch field personnel based on priority, availability, and geographic location to address service requests and emergencies
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of dispatch activities, including work orders, crew assignments, and communication logs
• Communicate with field personnel, management, and clients to provide updates, gather information, and resolve issues promptly
• Serve as the central communication hub between field teams, management, and clients
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to optimize resource allocation and improve operational efficiency
• Monitor and respond to excavation requests on behalf of customers
• Review utility records and submit records to excavators
• Interact daily with homeowners, excavators, and utility personnel
• Work in the corporate office to support timely deployment of field personnel and resources and maintain operational continuity and customer satisfaction
