Job summary

The City of Temple, TX is seeking a Utilities Crew Leader to oversee field utility crews, manage paperwork, and operate heavy equipment for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years in utilities, and demonstrated leadership skills. CDL with Tanker endorsement and TCEQ licenses are required upon hire. Safety and team supervision are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides supervision and training for assigned crew members.
• Plans, coordinates, and orders the necessary parts, supplies, and equipment for assigned work orders.
• Inspects all equipment before use and reports problems to supervisor or to fleet maintenance.
• Ensures that all safety policies are adhered to, safety equipment inspected and used, and that PPE is properly utilized.
• Prepares work orders, documenting parts, hours, equipment used and all other pertinent data in the work order management system.
• Performs all duties of a Utility Technician as needed.
• Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides supervision and training for assigned crew members
• Plans, coordinates, and orders the necessary parts, supplies, and equipment for assigned work orders
• Inspects all equipment before use and reports problems to supervisor or to fleet maintenance
• Ensures that all safety policies are adhered to, safety equipment inspected and used, and that PPE is properly utilized
