Sehlhorst Equipment Services is seeking a Utility Crew Laborer to join our on-site crew in Cleves, OH. The role involves assisting with underground utility installations, repairs, and maintenance while working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

You will support skilled crew members, handle materials and tools, and help ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently. A valid work ethic and ability to perform physically demanding tasks are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year construction laborer experience; 2-3 years preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor conditions.
• Basic understanding of construction tools and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with digging trenches and preparing sites for pipe installation.
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
• Help install, align, and secure pipes and related infrastructure.
• Backfill and compact soil after pipe installation.
• Operate basic hand tools and power tools as directed.
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required protective equipment.
• Support equipment operators and skilled tradespeople as needed.

Job Title: Utility Crew Laborer

Position Type: Full time, First-shift, Monday - Friday, hours will vary between 40-50 per week, paid weekly.

Location: Cleves, OH (on-site) - Must be local

Reports to: Job Foreman

Job Summary:

As a Utility Crew Laborer, you will be responsible for assisting in the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground utility systems such as water, gas, sewer, and storm drainage pipelines. This role involves physical labor, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and supporting skilled crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently.
