Sehlhorst Equipment Services in Ohio seeks a Utility Crew Equipment Operator to support construction and underground utility projects. The role requires operating heavy machinery, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery including excavators and loaders for construction tasks

Job Summary

The Utility Crew Equipment Operator plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of various machinery and equipment used in construction and maintenance projects. This position requires a skilled individual who can operate heavy machinery, perform maintenance tasks, and ensure that all operations are conducted safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery includingexcavators,loaders, for various construction tasks.
• Install trench boxes, lower pipe into trenches, move material safely, efficiently, and keep up with production goals
• Conduct daily inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Assist in building and maintaining underground infrastructure, pipelines, and other utilities
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines while operating heavy equipment, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and promoting a safe working environment

Qualifications

• Proficient in operating and excavating with the use of excavators
• Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively
• Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on communication and collaboration
• Willing to help out with pipe laying operations as necessary
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in utility systems operations is preferred
• Proven experience working as a Utilities Operator or in a similar role, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting
• Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements related to underground construction, such as OSHA, EPA, or other relevant agencies.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

• Excavator operation: 3 years (Required)
