Join to apply for the Utility Coordinator role at STV

STV has immediate needs for Utility Coordinators in the Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Pinehurst, Raleigh, and Winston-Salem, NC areas to oversee utility coordination and relocations for NCDOT division-managed programs. The work involves managing resources to identify utility conflicts and oversee relocations prior to construction.

This role offers opportunities to maintain client relationships, expand services geographically, participate in major projects, mentor junior staff, and promote a healthy work-life balance.

Job Responsibilities

1. Develop utility relocation strategies and provide coordination/relocation services for utility facilities (water, sewer, gas, electric, telecommunication, etc.)
2. Interpret highway construction plans, drainage summaries, and specifications to identify utility impacts
3. Understand policies, regulations, and standards set by FHWA, NCDOT, and relevant NC statutes
4. Apply innovative construction methods while adhering to environmental and roadway standards
5. Organize and coordinate multiple tasks/projects effectively
6. Schedule and conduct utility meetings with NCDOT, utility owners, and contractors; prepare agendas and minutes
7. Communicate technical information professionally and clearly
8. Collaborate with design disciplines to resolve utility conflicts
9. Familiarity with Subsurface Utility Engineering and data interpretation
10. Determine cost responsibilities and assist with utility agreements and relocation plans
11. Perform QA/QC of utility relocation packages and plans in MicroStation
12. Prepare environmental permit drawings and narratives
13. Attend field meetings and investigations as needed
14. Proficiency with Microsoft Office or equivalent
15. Experience with NCDOT Utilities Accommodation Manual
16. Occasional overnight travel may be required

Specific Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of related experience
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Compensation Range

$47,102.00 - $62,803.00
