Position Description
We are seeking a full-time Utility Research Coordinator to join our collaborative data team. In this role, you will be responsible for completing well-defined tasks including utility research, outreach to utilities and cities to obtain data.
This position is remote with occasional travel for team off-sites and client visits.
Primary Functions:
Research utility operations, public works assets, and asset management plans
Communicate directly with public works offices and utility asset owners by email and phone
Interpret maps, as-built drawings, and engineering plans at a basic level
Track communications in internal applications
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders about progress of requests and digitization
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to spend significant time communicating with external entities/organizations
Detail-oriented and self-motivated, ability to operate independently working remotely
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Experience with reading utility maps, as-built drawings, and engineering plans at a basic level
Experience working with utilities and/or government agencies
Experience researching and working with open source data
