Job summary

State of Delaware is seeking an Engineering/Planning/Surveying Technician III to coordinate public utility relocations for capital projects, review submissions, and track project activity. The role involves working with utility companies, designers, and contractors to manage utilities, minimize construction impacts, and address issues during construction.

The position requires knowledge of regulations related to public right-of-way, and experience with automated information systems and CAD

Qualifications

• Six months experience in reviewing construction plans and details to determine compliance.
• Six months experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Six months experience using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve and report data.
• Knowledge of coordinating public utility relocations in roadway or bridge construction contracts.
• Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations pertaining to public utility relocation in public right-of-way.
• Knowledge of project management to plan, implement, and evaluate projects.

Responsibilities

• Inspects infrastructures to ensure compliance with design plans and codes.
• Designs, develops, or reviews project layouts, alignments, studies, and drawings.
• Compiles and records notes and data to document compliance and designs.
• Conducts studies to analyze needs or develop plans and characteristics.
• Performs data analysis to ensure data accuracy and develop recommendations.
• Operates CAD and data systems to manage project information.
• Reads and interprets plans, specifications, and blueprints.
