Job summary

The DGS Office of External Affairs is seeking an Engineering/Planning/Surveying Technician III to coordinate utility work and relocations for capital projects. You will work with utility companies, designers, and contractors to identify utilities, resolve conflicts, and minimize construction impacts.

You will inspect infrastructure for compliance with design plans and codes, review engineering layouts and submissions, collect survey data, and track project activity through construction

Qualifications

  • Six months experience reviewing construction plans, specifications, and technical drawings for compliance.
  • Six months experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Six months experience using automated information systems to enter, update, retrieve, and report data.
  • Knowledge of coordinating public utility relocations in roadway or bridge construction contracts.
  • Knowledge of public utility relocation laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked, or cancelled).

The position is Report When Contacted and may require response during emergency situations and severe weather.
