Job summary

HDR is seeking a Utility EIT/Coordinator to support civil projects in Houston. You will coordinate between project teams and utility owners, perform records research, and assist with SUE investigations and utility design.

You will help produce utility plans and coordinate field activities to ensure successful project delivery. The role requires an Engineering degree, strong communication, and the ability to read complex civil and utility plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field.
  • EIT certificate preferred; otherwise candidates may be placed in a Design Coordinator track.
  • Two years of related experience in Transportation/Roadway/Utility.
  • Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD; familiarity with Open Roads Designer and Civil3D.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to read and understand civil transportation and utility plans.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate utility coordination between project team and utility owners, identifying and mitigating utility risks.
  • Perform utility records research, map collection, and prepare contact lists.
  • Coordinate and assist with SUE investigations by HDR and subconsultants.
  • Assist with utility design and production of plans and exhibits for clients.
  • Coordinate field activities with utility owners, construction teams and project managers.
  • Support QA/QC of plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
