Job Summary

Coordinates and performs a variety of customer service duties on behalf of the City's Utility Billing and Collections Department; responds to customer inquiries and requests; processes account transactions and utility payments; prepares daily bank deposits; and performs other related duties.

Essential Functions

• Provides and coordinates customer service; processes account transactions including move-in/out, new service connections, disconnections; posts utility payments.
• Handles utility payments and account requests received by mail and drop box.
• Processes online requests and faxes for service changes; contacts customers for deposits.
• Prepares daily bank deposits, processes billing adjustments, and routine accounting duties.
• Other duties: processes large payments, monitors departmental website, trains staff, and performs other assigned duties.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years customer service/clerical experience.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Physical requirements include lifting up to 25 pounds rarely. Constantly standing, sitting, communicating; frequently handling; occasionally walking, pushing, pulling; rarely lifting and carrying.

Work Hours

8 a.m. - 5 p.m., M-F.
