GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Lead Cashier (LC) is responsible for the efficiency of guest transactions and maintaining excellence in cashwrap standards, including cleanliness and overall aesthetics. Experienced in cashiering, the LC assists in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates. This role involves proactive collaboration, leadership, and influencing peers. The LC drives loyalty results, including credit, through performance, people, and process, supporting the leadership team with register functions, associate inspections, and cashier chat ins/outs. A passion for guest experience, process excellence, and delivering exceptional results is essential, along with engaging every guest on the benefits of our Loyalty Life Cycle.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance
  • Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty (including credit), and retail shrink.
  • Provide exceptional service by greeting, engaging, personalizing, and recommending products/services to guests.
  • Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
  • Support booking appointments and executing in-store events to enhance guest experience and meet sales goals.
  • Maintain replenishment, organization, and cleanliness of all cashwrap displays and supplies.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
People
  • Support an inclusive environment for teammates and guests.
  • Assist leadership with cashier chat ins/outs and associate exit inspections.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
  • Promote the guest loyalty program and create excitement around credit and loyalty goals.
  • Help train new cashiers and cross-train associates.
  • Engage and influence peers to achieve performance goals.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and sales performance.
  • Collaborate with store team to grow the business.
Process
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Adhere to the dress code.
  • Complete all transactions accurately and control cash/media according to policies.
  • Perform register opening and closing functions as directed.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and standards throughout the store.
  • Protect company assets and minimize loss.
  • Execute other operational tasks as needed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma preferred.

Experience

  • 2 years relevant experience or equivalent education and experience preferred.
  • Ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve.
  • Passion for guest service and selling.
  • Experience handling guest concerns professionally.
  • Proven sales achievement and training experience.

Skills

  • Proficient with POS systems and Apple devices.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
  • React calmly under pressure and adapt as needed.
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Mobility throughout the store during shifts.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects.
