Job summary

Redding Electric Utility is seeking a Utility Arborist to manage vegetation around power lines and equipment to keep the electric system safe, reliable, and efficient.

The role includes climbing, operating aerial devices, and occasional elevated platform work, with a requirement of two years of line clearance experience and an ISA Certified Arborist certification.

Qualifications

• Two years of line clearance tree trimming experience.
• Current ISA Certified Arborist certification required.

Responsibilities

• Trim, shape, and remove vegetation near high- and low-voltage lines, poles, and transformers using power saws and rigging.
• Work from elevated platforms and operate aerial devices.
• Occasionally climb trees to prune and remove vegetation.

Are you passionate about vegetation management, fuels reduction, and keeping Redding’s utility grid reliable, safe, and efficient?

Join our team at Redding Electric Utility as the next Utility Arborist.

We are looking for someone to:

• Trim, shape, and remove tree limbs, branches, and vegetation in close proximity to high- and low-voltage power lines, poles, and transformers, using power chain saws, rope rigging, and other hand tools and equipment.
• Work from elevated platforms and operate aerial devices.
• Occasionally, climb trees to remove vegetation and prune them.

Qualifications we’re looking for:

• Two years of line clearance tree trimming experience.
• Current "Certified Arborist" certification by the International Society of Arboriculture.
