Westminster at Lake Ridge in Lake Ridge, VA is hiring a full-time Utility Aide/Dishwasher to support the community. The wage rate ranges from $13.50 to $17.62 per hour, commensurate with experience, with great benefits and growth opportunities.

The role focuses on cleaning and sanitizing dishes and dish room areas, plus occasional general cleaning and store duties. Applicants should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be available for all meal periods.

Qualifications

• Incumbent should be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming dirty dishes and load into the dishwasher for cleaning and sanitation.
• Assist in picking up dirty dishes from IL, Health Center and Assisted Living areas and transfer to dishwashing area for cleaning.
• Wash and sanitize all dishes, pots, and pans per each meal period; load into the dishwasher with soap and sanitizer.
• Check dishwasher for cleanliness prior to loading and clean at start and end of shift.
• Check dishes, pots, and pans for cleanliness and note chips or breaks.
• Fill sink with water and soap for hand wash of non-dishwasher pots and pans; dry and return to proper location.
• Return cleaned dishes, pots, and pans to proper kitchen locations.

Job Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for cleaning and sanitizing dishes and the dish room areas. Additional duties include general cleaning duties and store room duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

• Processes incoming dirty dishes and loads into the dishwasher for proper cleaning and sanitation.
• Assists in picking up dirty dishes from IL, Health Center and Assisted Living areas and transfers to dishwashing area for cleaning and sanitation.
• Washes and sanitizes all dishes, pots, and pans per each meal period. Loads all dishes in to the dishwasher with proper soap and sanitizer as set forth by the Chef.
• Checks dishwasher to ensure cleanliness prior to loading dishes and cleans dishwasher at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Checks dishes, pots, and pans for cleanliness and sanitation and notes of any chips or breaks in the dishes.
• Fills sink with water and soap to hand wash and China or non-dishwasher safe pots and pans. Dries dishes, pots, and pans with appropriate towels or linens.
• Returns clean and sanitized dishes, pots, and pans to proper location within the kitchen area.
