Job summary

Ingleside at Rock Creek in Washington, DC is seeking an On Call Utility Aide/Dishwasher to support meal periods with dishwashing and sanitation duties. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and the ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Qualifications

• Incumbent should be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Available for all meal periods and able to follow instructions written and verbal.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming dirty dishes and load into dishwasher for cleaning.
• Transfer dirty dishes from living areas to dishwashing area for cleaning.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, and pans for each meal period.
• Ensure dishwasher cleanliness and operate at shift start and end.
• Inspect dishes for cleanliness and report chips or breaks.
• Return cleaned items to proper kitchen locations.

Wage Rate: $19.48 to $21.53 per hour commensurate with experience.

Job Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for cleaning and sanitizing dishes and the dish room areas. Additional duties include general cleaning duties and store room duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Incumbent should be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form, possess verbal and written communication skills, be available for all meal periods. Be able to lift 50 pounds or less.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processes incoming dirty dishes and loads into the dishwasher for proper cleaning and sanitation.
• Assists in picking up dirty dishes from IL, Health Center and Assisted Living areas and transfers to dishwashing area for cleaning and sanitation.
• Washes and sanitizes all dishes, pots, and pans per each meal period. Loads all dishes in to the dishwasher with proper soap and sanitizer as set forth by the Chef.
• Checks dishwasher to ensure cleanliness prior to loading dishes and cleans dishwasher at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Checks dishes, pots, and pans for cleanliness and sanitation and notes of any chips or breaks in the dishes.
• Fills sink with water and soap to hand wash and china or non dishwasher safe pots and pans. Dries dishes, pots, and pans with appropriate towels or linens.
• Returns clean and sanitized dishes, pots, and pans to proper location within the kitchen area.
