Job summary

Hydro Extrusions is seeking dedicated workers for the Casthouse B Nights production in Yankton, SD. The role offers 7pm–7am or 6pm–6am shifts on a 4x4 schedule with competitive hourly pay of $18.75 plus a $1 night differential, $500 sign-on and potential profit sharing.

Responsibilities include safety meetings, PPE, forklift and crane operation, equipment handling and maintaining a clean work area. Must be 18+, team player, and able to communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years or older.
• Self-motivated and willing to learn.
• Ability to communicate (written & verbal) and work well with all employees.

Responsibilities

• Attend all pre-shift safety meetings and follow safety rules.
• Wear PPE required by the task.
• Keep your area clean (housekeeping).
• Pass forklift certification test.
• Learn to operate overhead crane.
• Operate mobile equipment (forklift, skid loader, sweeper, overhead crane).
• Learn to operate homogenizers.
• Move logs using Combi-lift from cast pit to saw area.
• Weigh furnace charges and refer to the warehouse scrap map during melting furnaces.
• Charge scrap metal into furnaces safely.
• Load material into furnaces without damaging refractory.

Hourly rate

$18.75/hr.
$500 Sign-on bonus
+$1/hour for night shift differential
Eligible for monthly profit sharing.
With profit sharing, earnings can increase by ~$1.50-$3.00/hour.

What you will be doing

• Attend all pre-shift safety meetings. Follow all safety rules and practices at all times.
• Wear all PPE required by the task being performed.
• Housekeeping: Keep your area clean.
• Pass forklift certification test.
• Learn to operate overhead crane.
• Operate mobile equipment (forklift, skid loader, sweeper, overhead crane).
• Learn to operate homogenizers.
• Become proficient on Combi-lift to move logs from cast pit to saw area.
• When helping on the melting furnaces, accurately weigh furnace charges and become familiar with the "warehouse scrap map" in order to retrieve different scrap alloys.
• Become familiar with charging scrap metal into furnaces.
• Learn how to safely remove foreign material (steel wire, bands, cardboard, wood, etc.) from material to be loaded into furnace.
• Load material into furnaces without damaging furnace refractory.
