Job summary

Norsk Hydro in Yankton, SD is seeking a permanent position in Production. The role requires supporting extrusion operations, unloading finished products, and assisting Fabrication Equipment Operators across shifts.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn new processes and work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assure completion of daily safety inspections for mobile equipment, crane(s), torch, welder, fire extinguishers, ladders and eye wash inspections.
• Unload finished products and handle packaging requests per detailed instructions.
• Assist Fabrication Equipment Operators by loading extrusions into processing equipment (saws, punch presses, rolling machines).
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S in the assigned area as directed by supervision.

Hourly rate

$18/hr

$500 Sign-on bonus

+$1/hour for night shift differential

Eligible for monthly profit sharing. (with profit sharing, earnings can increase by -$1.50-$3.00/hour.)

2:00pm - 12:00am, Monday - Thursday (10 hrs shift)

What you will be doing

• Assure completion of daily safety inspections – i.e., mobile equipment, light curtains,
  crane(s), torch, welder, fire extinguishers, ladder(s), eye wash inspections, etc. whereresponsible.
• Responsible for unloading finished products, may include specific packaging requeststhat will be completed according to detailed instructions.
• Assist Fabrication Equipment Operators by loading extrusions into processing
  equipment including saws, punch presses, and rolling machines.
• Responsible for housekeeping and 5S in his or her respective area of work or areas asdirected by the departmental supervisor.

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience:

• Must be able to lift objects up to 50 pounds and be able to keep up with the people thatthey are paired up with.
• Able to work in extreme heat or cold conditions.
• Ability to work 8, 10, 12 hour rotating shifts depending on shift availability, overtime,weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide, multiply).
• Ability to perform basic computer application skills.
• Ability to read and use tape measures.
• Ability to communicate (both written & verbal) and work well with all employees at alllevels, willingness to learn new processes and work with limited supervision.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• HSD or GED is preferred.
• Previous manufacturing experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment ispreferred.
