Job summary

Domtar in Glenwood, Arkansas is hiring a full-time Utility worker to clean and maintain the mill floor, assist with chipping, and support sawmill operations. The role requires physical endurance, ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather, and willingness to work day or night shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to bend/twist, stand for long periods, and work in all weather.
• Ability to climb several flights of stairs and work both indoors and outdoors.
• Willingness to work day and/or night shift hours, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Clean up mill floor while running, using brooms, shovels and wheelbarrows.
• Clear wood debris and chip with axe and chainsaw as needed.
• Prepare sawmill equipment for shutdown with lockout/tagout and fall protection.
• Perform basic tally Sheet math (counting, addition, multiplication).
• Collaborate respectfully with others on site.

The location in Glenwood, (Arkansas, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Utility. This job is full-time permanent.

Responsibilities

• Clean up mill floor while the mill is running, using brooms, shovels and wheelbarrows.
• Clean up accessible wood debris, run through the chipper using axes and chain saws.
• Clean up sawmill equipment when the mill shuts down using proper lock out/tag out and fall protection procedures.
• Perform basic math skills such as counting, addition and multiplication for tally sheets.
• Ability to work respectfully with others.

Requirements

• Ability to constantly bend and twist body.
• Ability to constantly reach with arms and use hands to maneuver material.
• Ability to stand continuously on asphalt/concrete.
• Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Worker is subject to climb several flights of expanded metal stairs several times per day.
• Some work is performed outdoors.

Preferred Requirements

• 1-year mill manufacturing or experience in an industrial setting preferred.
• Must be able to work day and/ or night shift hours with O.T. as needed.
• Must be willing to work on some weekends.
