Job summary

The City of Irving seeks a program lead to coordinate and implement the department's technical training program and oversee all licensing training for Irving Water.

You will deliver training, coordinate with outside vendors, purchase materials, and manage the IISD partnership for career and technical education while supporting conservation initiatives through public education and leak detection efforts.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Water Operations Management, or related field.
• Three years of water distribution system experience, including at least one year in water operations.
• One year of wastewater operations experience.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and TCEQ licenses or ability to obtain them as required.

Responsibilities include delivering training, coordinating with outside vendors, purchasing training materials, managing the partnership with IISD for career and technical education, and supporting water conservation initiatives through public education and the City’s leak detection program. As a program lead, this position provides technical guidance to two to five employees.

An Associate degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Water Operations Management, or a related field plus three years of water distribution system experience, including at least one year each in water operations and wastewater operations required. A valid Texas driver’s license, a TCEQ Class C Water Distribution License (with the ability to obtain a Class B within two years), a TCEQ Level II Wastewater License (with the ability to obtain Level III within two years), and the ability to meet qualifications required for TCEQ approved water/wastewater licensing instructor are also required.
