Job summary

Kansas Turnpike Authority is seeking a Utilities Superintendent to lead the operation, maintenance, and improvement of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and power systems across the Kansas Turnpike. You will supervise a maintenance team, coordinate with contractors, and manage budgets while ensuring safety and reliability for employees, customers, and operations.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of operating, maintaining, and repairing electrical, plumbing, sewerage, and other mechanical systems.
• 7+ years in electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trades.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Master electrical or plumbing license for Kansas; HVAC/mechanical certification.
• CDL and multiple licenses including KDHE wastewater operator.
• First aid/CPR and other safety certifications.
• Backflow, EPA, and confined space certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and power systems.
• Lead a skilled maintenance team and coordinate with contractors and vendors.
• Develop project specifications, manage budgets, and oversee purchasing.
• Ensure safety, compliance with standards, and reliable service.
• Plan for future operational needs and workforce development.
