Wolff Excavating is seeking a Utilities Superintendent to lead excavation, earthwork, and underground utility construction projects in Utah. The role focuses on field operations, crew and equipment management, and on-schedule delivery while upholding OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in excavation, earthwork and underground utilities construction.
• Proven experience as a Superintendent or Civil Superintendent.
• Strong background in heavy civil sitework, grading, and utility installation.
• Experience with water, sewer and storm drain utilities preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety standards.
• Leadership and crew management skills.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for excavation, grading and underground utility installation.
• Coordinate scheduling, crews, subcontractors and equipment.
• Read civil plans, blueprints, specs and soil reports.
• Oversee trenching, backfill, pipe installation and site development.
• Coordinate permits, inspections, blue stakes, and traffic control.
• Monitor progress, productivity and project costs.
• Ensure safety compliance and enforce company safety policies.
• Supervise foremen, operators, and labor crews.
• Maintain daily reports, timecards and project documentation.
• Communicate with project managers, clients, inspectors and vendors.
• Manage equipment, materials and jobsite logistics.
