Sun Communities, Inc. is seeking a Utilities Project Manager to lead planning, scheduling, permitting, procurement, and vendor coordination for water utility projects across our portfolio.

The role focuses on meeting installation milestones, managing budgets, and ensuring quality from initiation to closeout. You will oversee multi-site initiatives, collaborate with community teams, and ensure smooth handoffs to ongoing operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Construction Management, or Engineering preferred.
• 3 years PM experience in field-based installation, construction, or infrastructure.
• Experience building and holding schedules across multiple sites.
• Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, or field crews.
• Familiarity with permitting processes and municipal/utility coordination.
• Budget management experience and variance handling.
• PM certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and project tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, Wrike).
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Builds and maintains detailed project schedules for metering and utility installations.
• Manages installation timelines by geography, season, and requirements to meet milestones.
• Develops project plans with scope, deliverables, budget, and timeline; secures alignment.
• Tracks permit status and drives blockers to resolution.
• Manages procurement of materials and components to align with schedules.
• Coordinates installation vendors, contractors, and field crews daily.
• Runs recurring project check-ins; publishes agendas and notes; tracks actions.
• Monitors installation quality; manages punch lists and rework with vendors.
• Tracks budget vs. plan; flags variances; manages change orders.
• Maintains risk and issue register; drives mitigation to completion.
• Reports status, milestones, risks, and forecast to leadership.
• Coordinates with management on logistics and resident-facing impacts.
• Facilitates closeout and handoff to Utilities Program Manager; documents lessons learned.
