Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking an Utilities Operator-Intermediate (North Campus) to provide advanced technical skills and supervision for the operation and maintenance of campus utility distribution systems.

The role involves monitoring building automation systems, inspecting facilities, operating boilers, chillers, pumps, and associated equipment, and managing work orders. Strong problem solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of operating various machinery and tools and ability to read blueprints or diagrams.
• Ability to exercise skilled independent judgment and problem solving in emergencies.
• Detailed oriented with the ability to prepare and maintain records and reports.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensures proper operation and monitoring of building automation systems for alarms or conditions.
• Inspects facilities and equipment for discrepancies or code violations.
• Operates utility system equipment efficiently and economically.
• Creates and tracks work orders, orders parts and materials.
• Communicates with customers, co-workers and involved personnel.
• Supervises maintenance, repair, and installation of utility equipment including boilers and HVAC systems.
• Performs water tests and analyses for cooling tower, boiler, and closed-loop operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
