Job summary

UT Health San Antonio on-site is seeking a Facilities Technician to operate, maintain and repair utility systems across the San Antonio campus. The role emphasizes reliability, safety, and teamwork within the Facilities & Engineering group.

The position requires at least 3 years of experience with utility equipment, knowledge of HVAC and building systems, and the ability to read blueprints. The work includes responding to alarms, performing plumbing/electrical maintenance, and keeping precise

Qualifications

• Knowledge of operating various machinery and tools and ability to read blueprints or diagrams.
• Ability to exercise skilled independent judgment and problem solving in emergencies.
• Detailed oriented with the ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains and repairs utility system equipment in the facilities.
• Maintains equipment history files and communicates building system status to appropriate personnel.
• Maintains heating and air conditioning equipment including cleaning coils, replacing filters, troubleshooting control circuits, and repairing pumps.
• Performs water testing, analysis, and documentation on utility systems.
• Responds to service calls, equipment alarms, fire alarm system alarms, elevator malfunctions, and related calls for assistance.
• Performs minor plumbing and electrical maintenance on air conditioning equipment and other building utility systems.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
